Sculptures, ornate building details, figurines and product design concepts are often hand made due to the speed with which the design can be created. Creating the design accurately in the computer for manufacturing or visualisation is a very difficult task using the eye and a ruler. 3D scanning can be used to create an exact copy of objects quickly and accurately. Artists and designers can now make objects in one size and then have them reproduced accurately in a number of different sizes. 3D scanning does not detract from the artistic integrity of an object. It is merely another tool to create the final artwork.
