Miniaiture Toyota Aurion

How do you make a 5m long, 5 door passenger car fit a 3m long space frame racing chassis and still resemble the original car?

This was the challenge set to Wysiwyg 3D when approached by Aussie Racing Cars. (www.aussieracingcars.com.au)

Toyota TRD had approached Phil Ward of Aussie Racing Cars to have a Toyota TRD Aurion compete in his Aussie Racing Car category alongside the miniture Commodore and Falcon. The two requirements were that it looked “Better” than the other 2 cars and that it was ready for released at Indy 2009 on the Gold Coast.

Using 3D scanning technology, high end CAD and 5 axis CNC mills, the Aussie Racing TRD Aurion was born.

Toro Rosso Formula 1 racing team boosts success with the aid of Geomagic Qualify

Advanced 3D inspection software from Geomagic coupled with optical scanning technology is helping Italy-based Scuderia Toro Rosso improve the performance and reliability of its Formula 1 racing cars.

“There’s no doubt that the use of Geomagic Qualify has brought us a   number of very real benefits,” says Magaldi. “For a start, we are now more confident that parts conform correctly to what was designed. We are also able to inspect parts that previously we couldn’t inspect fully, either because we didn’t have the technology or because of time constraints or a combination of both of these.

Wysiwyg 3D is the master distributor for Geomagic and the certified trainer for Australia-New Zealand.
