NRL Trophy

NRL was after a scaled up but exact replica of the NRL Trophy for the 2008 season launch, the first of its kind for such an event. Using a Faro Laser Scanner and Model maker Combo Wysiwyg 3D was able to laser scan the NRL trophy.

From the raw scan data the point cloud mesh was then imported into Geomagic Studio to create a 3D surface model and exported as an IGES file ready for the multi axis robot to machine.

Visual Effects - Halloween Mask

Paul Braddock, a visual effects artist, sculptor and illustrator knew all the tricks of the trade when he needed a mask for the Halloween Party.

“The all important base for this, was a very accurate facial scan provided by the guys at WYSIWYG this ensured a perfect fit “

Find out how Paul made this incredible mask!

Once limited to engineering, industries such as movies and advertising are now benefiting from laser scanning technology.

With unlimited imaginations 3D laser scanning can help turn the dream into a reality.  As  laser scanning data can be exported into a number of file types suitable for a range of 3rd party software such as Maya, animators and 3D cad modellers are able to turn everyday objects such as ten pins into artery blocking cholesterol.

NRL Season Launch 2009

Have you always wondered how the ads are made these days?  How do they get the kids to morph into adults without even realising it. Laser scanning technology can be applied to people as well.

Plaster and silcone is a thing of the past when it comes to scanning people. Not only is it far more comfortable for the people but it is incredibly fast and accurate.

Using the Artec scanner Wysiwyg engineers were able to laser scan the children, teenagers and the NRL footballer players. Files were then exported as IGES file ready for the animators.
